ARNOT MALL, BIG FOX & 94 ROCK

TWIN TIERS IDOL 2008
A talent show competition which will showcase local talent, live, on stage in Center Court at the Arnot Mall. The winner will receive a trip to an American Idol Audition location in 2008. Prize includes the plane ticket, hotel accommodations and spending money for the trip.

Audition Dates and Times:
Saturday, June 7th starting at 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm
Tuesday, June 10th starting at 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
- 40 CONTESTANTS WILL BE CONTACTED TO PERFORM IN FINAL AUDITIONS –
Location in the Arnot Mall – to be decided.
-Monday, June 16th 6:00 pm- 20 finalists will be selected for the Twin Tiers Idol Competition.
Audition Rules: - 20 finalists will be chosen to participate in the 4 week competition.
- Contestants must be 16 years of age by July 10, 2008.
- Contestants for Twin Tiers Idol 2008 must be between the ages of 16 and 27.
- The American Idol contest allows 16-28 year olds only. Contestants must be aware of this age requirement.
- All contestants must have valid verification of name and age.
- Must be polite and courteous at audition or will be asked to leave.
- Twin Tiers Idol judges will hold private auditions. Only the person auditioning will be allowed in the audition area.
- Only 1 (one) song will be accepted for audition and only 1 try.
- No musical accompaniment accepted.
- The audition dates are final, no rescheduling requests permitted. Must be available Monday, June 16th for final audition at 6:00 pm. (location at Arnot Mall- TBA)
- NOTIFICATION TO 20 CONTESTANTS:
- All 20 contestants will be notified within 48 hours of final audition.
- Names of contestants will be listed on 94 Rock, 99.5 WOKN, 98.3 WVIN, Big Fox, Star-Gazette and Arnot Mall websites.
- All 20 contestants will be announced on 94 Rock, 99.5 WOKN, 98.3 WVIN and on Big Fox WYDC-TV.
- Following announcements during notification the 20 contestants will be asked for their song choice for week one. The song list will be handed out at the final audition.
- CD’s will be available for pick-up at the Customer Service Center at the Arnot Mall. Each contestant must show I.D. and sign for CD.
- All 20 contestants will receive a list of rules and regulations to read and sign. Any contestant that refuses to sign or does not want to comply will be disqualified.
- DATES OF COMPETITION:
– Wednesday, June 25th, Wednesday, July 2nd; Wednesday, July 9th; Wednesday, July 16th, held at 6:30 pm, Center Court of the Arnot Mall. Crowning of Twin Tiers Idol will take place in Center Court at 9:30 AM on Saturday, July 19th. - COMPETITION FORMAT FOR CONTESTANTS:
- Contestants must be available all dates of competition. (Wednesday, June 25th, July 2nd, July 9th, and July 16th from 5:15 pm to 9:00 pm.
- Contestants at the end of each week will be given a list of songs to perform for the next week.
- The Arnot Mall will be assisting contestants in providing background music for performances. Assisted by Bobby K.
- All contestants will be required to meet in Center Court for sound check at 5:30 p.m. sharp.
If contestant does not show up for sound check, they will be disqualified.
No sound check will be done after 6:00 p.m. - Performances will be held in random order.
- Contestant and judges will be introduced to the audience by host, Mike Strobel of 94 Rock.
- Upon introduction, the contestants will perform their song.
- Contestants will have a pre-determined time limit each week to perform the song assigned to them. (The first and second weeks are 90 seconds; third and fourth weeks are complete songs including the final show).
- Upon completion, contestant will approach the judges for comments.
- Judges will give critique of performance and the public will vote.
- Finalist names will be listed on websites: 94 Rock, 95.5 WOKN, 98.3 WVIN, Big Fox, Star-Gazette and Arnot Mall on the following day.
- Finalist names will be mentioned on air by 94 Rock-Mike Strobel, 99.5 WOKN-Michael Williams, 98.3 WVIN-Dave Taylor Smith, and in Public Service Announcements on Big Fox WYDC-TV the following day.
- WEEKLY ELIMINATION PROCESS:
- Week #1 (20 contestants) – A combination of PublicVote and Judging will decide who will return to week # 2 (5 contestants will be eliminated).
- Week #2 (15 contestants) – A combination of Public Vote and Judging wwill decide who will return to week # 3 (5 contestants will be eliminated).
- Week #3 (10 contestants) – A combination of Public Vote and Judging will decide who will return to week # 4 (5 contestants will be eliminated).
- Week #4 (5 contestants) – A combination of Public Vote and Judging will decide the winner of the competition.
- July 19th at 9:30 AM crowning of the 2008 Twin Tiers Idol Winner. Contestants will perform a group song and 1 (one) song of their choice.
