SUBJECT: SCT B.O.C.E.S Interns perform community service at the Arnot Mall

Arnot Mall is once again implementing an added service to our customers during the busiest time of the year!

SCT B.O.C.E.S. Security Interns will assist Arnot Mall customers during the peak shopping period of 5:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. Black Friday, Nov. 23rd. They will be located at both cinema entrances that lead directly to center court; to assist customers by opening doors and carrying packages to their cars. By doing so, the B.O.C.E.S. Interns will acquire community service hours at the Arnot Mall on one of the busiest shopping days of the year.

The Arnot Mall has been in partnership with the SCT B.O.C.E.S. Security Protective Services Program, instructed by Tammy Lotocky, for over ten years. This holiday internship program was developed a few years ago to enhance customer service and offer the public personalized shopping assistance. The Interns will be stationed at the center court entrance #3 and #4.

The program has an annual internship with Arnot Mall at Christmas time to assist the security officers of the mall. The mall also acquires volunteer interns to assist with annual events such as the Boy Scouts Overnight in February and other large events throughout the year.

The Arnot Mall Security Force is a proprietary (not contracted) security entity fully licensed by the State of New York and all officers are CPR, First Aid and AED trained through the American Red Cross. “This partnership gives us an opportunity to introduce local students to the security profession and give them real world experience,” said Gary Larrison, Director of Security at the Arnot Mall. “Also, it has given us a pool of potential security personnel to work with and see how they work. The students come to us prepared, trained and ready to perform their duties. We evaluate each student and have hired graduates from this program who have become excellent officers.
